Malta's electricity grid came under renewed strain as soaring temperatures pushed power demand to record levels, causing outages in several localities.
It raised fresh concerns about the resilience of the country's electricity distribution network, Caliber.Az reports, citing Malta News Agency.
State utility Enemalta said the disruptions were caused by four separate and unrelated cable faults that affected homes and businesses.
The company deployed mobile generators to restore electricity while repair crews worked to reconnect the impacted substations.
