Baku, Kabul reinforce commitment to multifaceted bilateral engagement PHOTO

On July 2, a meeting took place in Baku between the Deputy Foreign Ministers of Azerbaijan and Afghanistan — Elnur Mammadov and Mohammad Naeem Wardak.

The two sides discussed cooperation between Azerbaijan and Afghanistan in various areas, including trade and economy, transportation, diplomacy, humanitarian issues, consular affairs, and other fields, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.

Both parties stressed the importance of deepening bilateral relations.

Elnur Mammadov expressed gratitude to his Afghan counterpart for Afghanistan’s unequivocal support of Azerbaijan’s just position during the Azerbaijani-Armenian conflict. He also highlighted the significance of the Afghan delegation's participation in the 17th Summit of the Economic Cooperation Organisation.

Mohammad Naeem Wardak, in turn, thanked the Azerbaijani side for the invitation to participate in international events, emphasising that such initiatives promote dialogue and mutual understanding between the two countries.

The two sides also exchanged views on current developments in the region.
