"Artificial intelligence is a rapidly developing field on a global scale, and studying international experience and ensuring access to advanced technologies are of particular importance in this direction," Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport Samaddin Asadov said in an interview with “APA-Economics”.
The deputy minister noted that one of the important steps in this regard was the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the United States in August 2025. The document identifies the development of partnerships in artificial intelligence as one of the key areas of bilateral cooperation.
He added that the visit to the United States led by Minister Rashad Nabiyev at the end of last year was aimed at the practical implementation of these agreements. During the meetings, opportunities for implementing joint projects, knowledge exchange, and sharing experience in the fields of artificial intelligence and digital development were discussed.
The geography of international cooperation is not limited to the United States. Throughout 2025, new partnership opportunities in the field of artificial intelligence were widely discussed in negotiations with official institutions and various companies from China, Korea, Japan, and other countries.
“In this direction, the next important step was taken during Minister Rashad Nabiyev’s visit to Israel. On February 3, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed with the National Artificial Intelligence Directorate under the Prime Minister’s Office of Israel. The document envisages the development and application of advanced artificial intelligence models, as well as the establishment of an experimental laboratory and high-performance computing infrastructure. It also covers areas such as building qualified human capital, supporting academic research, and promoting public-private partnerships.
Overall, personnel training, technological knowledge exchange, implementation of joint projects, and the application of innovative solutions have been identified as key priorities of the international cooperation process.
These relations create conditions for the application of advanced technologies in our country, enable local specialists to benefit from international experience, and contribute to the more effective implementation of the Strategy,” the deputy minister added
