SOCAR received a score of 50 out of 100 in S&P Global’s 2026 Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA), conducted by one of the world’s leading providers of ratings and analytics, securing an ESG rating.
Approximately 12,500 companies participated in this global assessment.
According to results as of 9 October 2026, SOCAR outperformed 83% of companies assessed in the Oil & Gas Upstream & Integrated industry group. This result reflects the progress made in consistently advancing the Company’s sustainability agenda and integrating environmental, social and governance (ESG) principles into its corporate governance and operational activities.
As part of the S&P Global assessment, SOCAR provided data for more than 95% of the 1,000+ indicators requested, demonstrating the company’s commitment to sustainability data disclosure and transparent reporting practices.
Compared to the previous assessment, notable progress has been made in determining the materiality of ESG issues, strengthening human rights commitments and related processes, advancing climate action and developing the climate strategy, expanding greenhouse gas emissions reporting, and improving resource management and reuse. These achievements reflect SOCAR’s ongoing efforts to enhance its sustainability management practices, strengthen its environmental and social responsibility, and align its long-term strategic priorities with international benchmarks.
S&P Global evaluates companies’ sustainability performance against industry-specific criteria. Scores are assigned on a scale of 0 to 100, enabling companies to be benchmarked against their peers within the respective industry group. The CSA enables companies to identify their sustainability strengths and areas for improvement, as well as benchmark their management practices against international industry standards.
