Azerbaijan’s flagship carrier, Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL), has delayed and postponed multiple international flights due to rising regional tensions and airspace closures triggered by the ongoing India-Pakistan conflict and concerns over Ukrainian drone activity.
AZAL’s press service confirmed to Caliber.Az that two major outbound flights from Baku to Moscow — J2-181 headed for Domodedovo Airport and J2-807 bound for Vnukovo—have been delayed after Russian airspace restrictions were enacted at the destination airports.
Meanwhile, flight J2-059 from Baku to Mumbai was postponed due to Pakistan’s closure of its airspace, as the conflict between New Delhi and Islamabad continues to escalate following overnight military strikes.
AZAL has assured affected passengers that all necessary support is being provided in line with the airline’s policies. The company emphasised that passenger safety remains its top priority and that it is closely monitoring the rapidly evolving situation.
Travellers are urged to stay alert for further updates as the airline continues to assess risks and navigate shifting airspace regulations.
