Former 'Vremya' director kaleriya Kislova dies at 100

Former director of the “Vremya” program and laureate of the USSR State Prize, Kaleriya Kislova, has passed away at the age of 100.

In her memoirs, Kaleriya Venediktovna Kislova spoke with special sincerity about Heydar Aliyev, whom she considered not only an outstanding leader but also a profound and genuine person. The legend of Soviet television often emphasized that her time working in Azerbaijan left her with the warmest impressions, and her relationship with Heydar Aliyev gradually evolved into a sincere friendship.

Kislova was born in 1926 in Siberia and graduated from the Russian University of Theatre Arts. She began working at the USSR Central Television in 1961 and, from 1977, served as the chief director of information programs. Having worked in news broadcasting for over half a century, she became one of the most respected figures in the history of Soviet and Russian television.
