Seven people were killed and 66 injured when a road bridge collapsed onto a passenger train in the Vygonichsky District of Russia’s Bryansk Region.
Axar.az informs, citing TASS, the train was traveling from the town of Klimov to the capital Moscow when it was hit by the debris from the bridge and derailed.
The collapse occurred as a result of interference with the operation of transport, the press service of the Moscow Railway clarified. Passenger train No. 86 Klimov - Moscow derailed on the single-track Pilshino - Vygonichi section.
As a result of the accident, seven people died and 66 were injured. According to the Governor of the Bryansk Region Alexander Bogomaz, 44 people were hospitalized, 22 are being examined as outpatients.Three victims, including a child, are in serious condition.
The Moscow Interregional Transport Prosecutor's Office has launched an investigation.
