Russia cancels 11 posts on our border

Yerevan appealed to the Russian side with a request to withdraw the temporary operational groups of the Russian border guards, and such a decision was made.

Axar.az reports that these words were said by Alexander Bortnikov, a candidate for the directorship of the Federal Security Service of Russia.

He noted that, taking into account the recent changes in the situation on the territory of Armenia, the leader of Armenia, in his meeting with President Putin in Moscow (the meeting between Putin and Pashinyan in Moscow took place on May 8, ed.) requested the withdrawal of temporary operational groups from the demarcation line and the border:

"Thus, the problem of presence in legally undefined areas is closed. This decision has been made."

He reminded that after the tripartite statement of November 10, 2020, Armenia requested the placement of aid and FTX border units on the border line with Azerbaijan. Considering this request, the Russian Federation established 11 border posts between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

It should be noted that earlier Bortnikov announced that he would close the border crossing point of the Russian border guards at the Zvartnots airport in Yerevan.
