We have the necessary goodwill and determination, but due to the experience of the previous two wars, we do not trust the United States.
Axar.az reports, citing Tasnim, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf made these remarks regarding talks with the United States held in Pakistan.
“The United States understood our logic and principles, and now it must decide whether it can earn our trust or not.”
Ghalibaf added that Iranian negotiators had presented “168 forward-looking initiatives,” but said the American side ultimately failed to gain the trust of the Iranian delegation in this round of talks.
“We consider ‘power diplomacy’ alongside military struggle as another method of achieving the rights of the Iranian nation.”
He also expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s efforts in facilitating the negotiations.
It is noted that a 21-hour round of talks between the United States and Iran in Islamabad ended without agreement.
