Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov held a phone conversation with South Korea’s Foreign Minister Cho Hyun.
Axar.az informs, citing the Foreign Ministry, the sides discussed the current state and future prospects of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and South Korea, as well as issues of regional cooperation.
They emphasized the importance of Korean companies’ participation in a number of projects being implemented in Azerbaijan and noted broad opportunities to further expand economic cooperation.
It was highlighted that the Joint Commission on Economic Cooperation between the governments of Azerbaijan and Korea plays an important role in advancing relations.
The importance of intensifying consultations between the foreign ministries and increasing mutual visits was also underscored.
The sides touched upon cooperation within regional platforms and reviewed opportunities to expand collaboration across various sectors.
South Korea also welcomed Azerbaijan’s chairmanship of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP).
The phone call also included an exchange of views on other issues of mutual interest.
