A shocking incident in India’s Odisha state has drawn widespread attention after a tribal man brought his deceased sister’s skeletal remains to a bank as proof of death to withdraw money from her account.
Axar.az informs that the man, identified as Jeetu Munda, had reportedly been asked to provide a death certificate and legal documents. Unable to do so, he exhumed the remains and took them to the branch in frustration.
Police later intervened and reburied the remains. The bank denied asking for the physical presence of the deceased, saying the claim was processed according to rules. Authorities have since stepped in to resolve the issue and ensure the funds are released to the rightful claimant.
