Pope Francis was buried in a simple wooden coffin in the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore in Rome. This was his own will.

Axar.az informs that the Sun newspaper reported on this.

“His coffin was carried by members of marginalized communities, including migrants and prisoners, reflecting his commitment to serving those most in need,” the publication said.

It should be noted that Pope Francis died on April 21 at the age of 88 after a long illness.
