Azerbaijan, Ukraine eye consular cooperation

Ukraine and Azerbaijan have reaffirmed their commitment to deepening consular cooperation and advancing bilateral ties during a meeting in Kyiv.

During the meeting between Director of Ukrainian Foreign Ministry’s Consular Service Department Vladyslav Kanevskyi and Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Ukraine Seymur Mardaliyev, the sides discussed the agenda for upcoming consular consultations, Caliber.Az reports per the department’s social media page.

Kanevskyi expressed appreciation for Azerbaijan’s consistent support of Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as for its substantial humanitarian aid and involvement in post-war reconstruction. He highlighted Azerbaijan’s contributions to rebuilding infrastructure in the Kyiv region.

Earlier, it was reported that Azerbaijan has rehabilitated 273 Ukrainian children whose parents were either killed or are currently held captive as a result of the Russia-Ukraine war over the past three years.

Since 2022, Azerbaijan has contributed over $40 million in humanitarian aid to Ukraine, further solidifying its commitment to aiding in the country’s recovery and resilience amidst the ongoing conflict.
