Pashinyan endorses peace deal on Azerbaijani TV in Tirana, calls to scrap Minsk Group -

During his visit to Albania, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan gave an interview to Azerbaijan’s Public Television (İTV).

When asked by an İTV correspondent whether Armenia's new Constitution would include a reference to the Declaration of Independence, Pashinyan replied that no draft of a new Constitution currently exists, Caliber.Az reports per local media.

The Prime Minister also spoke about the peace agreement. He stated that Yerevan considers the dissolution of the OSCE Minsk Group to be appropriate:

“Our proposed solution is as follows: to sign the peace agreement and simultaneously appeal to the OSCE for the dissolution of the Minsk Group. That is, in the same place, at the same time – this is very important. It would be a significant gesture towards mutual trust and stability in our region.”

Pashinyan added that the agreed text of the peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan includes mutual recognition of each other’s territorial integrity and sovereignty based on the Alma-Ata Declaration:

“When the peace agreement is ratified in the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, it will be stated that the Republic of Armenia has no territorial claims against Azerbaijan or any of its neighbours. We are ready to make a decision to sign and ratify the peace agreement.”
