Türkiye has conveyed Washington’s position on the possible resumption of nuclear negotiations to Iranian officials, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan announced.
Speaking to journalists, Fidan said he had held talks with Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, during which the issue of the ceasefire and next steps in the diplomatic process were discussed, Caliber.Az reports, citing Turkish media.
"During the negotiations with Mr. Araghchi, we discussed the ceasefire process, our current position, and how it will move forward. We observe that the ceasefire is currently being upheld, and the parties are respecting it," Fidan stated.
He emphasised that the next phase will likely involve efforts to restart nuclear negotiations, though the process remains uncertain.
“There is still ambiguity around this. There are several positions in play. Just four days ago, I held talks with President Biden’s special envoy, Mr. Witkoff. The U.S. side has outlined several views on the matter. We were able to convey these to the Iranian side both at the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) Summit in Khankendi and on the sidelines of the BRICS Summit,” the Turkish minister added.
