Andrea Pirlo is set to become the new head coach of the Italian national football team, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.
The 47-year-old is expected to sign a contract running until 2030, with an annual salary of €1.5 million ($1.63 million). An official announcement is expected shortly.
Pirlo reportedly emerged as the preferred candidate after Pep Guardiola declined the position.
The former Italy midfielder has been coaching Dubai United since 2025. He has previously managed Juventus, Fatih Karagümrük and Sampdoria.
