Azerbaijani boxer Alfonso Dominguez has won a license for the 2024 Summer Olympics to be held in Paris.
Azerbaijani world champion, performing in the weight of 92 kg, qualified for the Olympic Games at the II World Olympic Qualification Tournament in the Thai capital Bangkok, informs citing Azerbaijan Boxing Federation.
He faced Elkin Adilbek Uulu of Kyrgyzstan in the 1/4 finals. Dominguez defeated his opponent 5:0 and reached the semifinals, and this victory gave our boxer the right to participate in Paris-2024.
As a result, Azerbaijani national team will be represented by five boxers in the French capital. Nijat Huseynov (51 kg), Malik Hasanov (63.5 kg), Murad Allakhverdiev (80 kg) and Magomed Abdullayev (+92 kg) qualified for the Olympics in Paris before Dominguez.
