The TECHNOFEST-2025 festival has brought the technological successes of Türkiye and Azerbaijan to the attention of hundreds of thousands of Turkish Cypriots, said President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), Ersin Tatar.
During his speech at the event, Tatar said TECHNOFEST is not just an aviation, space, and technology festival, but a vital platform for shaping Türkiye's technological future, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
It also plays a key role in bringing together young people, scientists, and technology professionals, inspiring them and instilling confidence in their future, he added.
“This festival has become a symbol of not only technological progress but also the unity of the Turkic peoples. Azerbaijan, with its significant achievements in the technology sector, is an important participant in showcasing these developments to the wider world,” Tatar remarked.
He also emphasised the festival's role in promoting Turkic unity, noting that TECHNOFEST has now reached its 11th edition. Of these, nine were held in Türkiye, and one took place in Azerbaijan's capital, Baku, with the support of Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev.
As the festival continues to grow in significance, Tatar revealed that the number of participants has surpassed 100,000, with expectations for this figure to reach up to 200,000 by the end of the event. TECHNOFEST-2025 has proven to be an important event for both the region and the wider Turkic community, offering a glimpse into the future of technology and innovation in the region.
To recall, the Azerbaijani Qızıl Qaya team has taken first place in the Tourism category at TECHNOFEST-2025, one of the region’s largest festivals dedicated to technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship, held this year in Northern Cyprus. The team’s innovative project stood out among hundreds of entries, earning them the top prize.
In a moment of high recognition, the award was presented by President of Türkiye, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who personally congratulated the team during the official ceremony. TECHNOFEST, now in its 11th year, celebrates achievements across various tech-related fields, including aviation, space, robotics, smart cities, biotechnology, and more.
The 2025 edition is being held in Northern Cyprus and runs through May 4.
The festival is organised with the support of the presidential administration of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, the Turkish Ministry of Industry and Technology, and the Turkish Technology Team Foundation (T3 Foundation).
