India calls up the territorial army

The Indian government has authorized the army chief to call up the territorial army, a voluntary reserve force, to assist the armed forces.

According to the information, the territorial army is being called up to provide necessary security and support to the regular army. This step was taken in connection with the ongoing military conflict between India and Pakistan.

“The Indian government has authorized the army chief to call up any officer and soldier in the territorial army,” the statement said.
