The trial of Armenian national Ruben Vardanyan, accused of multiple grave crimes including torture, mercenarism, terrorism, and violations of the laws and customs of war, continued today with the questioning of victims in a Baku court.
One of the victims, Sadig Bakhshiyev, provided detailed testimony about being seriously injured by sniper fire from remnants of Armenian armed forces in the Aghdara district, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
The incident resulted in significant harm to his health, and the injury has been officially classified as grievous bodily harm.
The court session also included the reading of the forensic medical examination report, which corroborated the severity of Bakhshiyev’s injuries.
Ruben Vardanyan is charged under the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan with numerous serious crimes, including waging a war of aggression, deportation, persecution, enforced disappearances, illegal imprisonment, torture, mercenary activities, violations of the laws of war and international humanitarian law, multiple counts of intentional and attempted murder, illegal entrepreneurship, terrorism and its financing, creating a criminal group, illegal arms trafficking, threats to aviation safety, attempted seizure of power, forming illegal armed groups, and unlawful border crossing.
